ok so my pc was updating for a good amount of time then my screen went black, i watied for about 10min. maybe and turn it off(held in power button) then turned it back on. It said it was to undo the updates so i let it do its thing. I logged on and now i cant use my start button or the side panel thing. any ideas? and i have found nothing on the internet

hmm...found out what was wrong. Turns out my windows key was only activated for 180 days  : but it just needed reactivated and everything is ok   Solved
