WBS

I was going through my phone and I found something in the playlist section that brought back a few memories. More than a few, really. The BF 1942 theme. Man did that bring me back ways... So I figured I'd drop a line. I believe it's been somewhere around two years since I last did posted anything, and about four years since I last played on the (now non-existent) server. Four years. That quite a ways. I'm no longer that sad, lonely, attention seeking kid I once was. I have a lot of friends now. I hell of a lot actually, and I've dated a hell of a lot of women. I'm still weird as hell, but that's about all that remains of the 8th grader that once haunted the WBS and then ACE (was it ACE? I never really cared what the clans name was, I was just there for the people) servers. It was all quite a time. I remember that I was generally an inferior player to most. My only really calling was knife fighting. I was hopeless at dogfighting, and I maybe one a quarter of my gun-fights. I remember I always wanted to be better. To get that pesky R dropped and just be a *WBS* member. Never achieved that, I believe. My own fault. I was quite the habitual liar back then, hard to find a reason to promote one of those. I remember the goat being my calling card. My nick-name was Nix. Man, it gave me chills to see that word again. Nix. I still remember the people, quite a few seem to be gone by now. Tuesday. Android. Father Pope. Pepper. Twist. Ace Sniper. Or maybe that one was just sniper... Kill Machine, War Machine. Dragon. I believe I actually had Drag's digits. I know there are plenty more that have sadly faded from recollection. I remember FOXES clan, and I believe there were a few other clans. I remember that Berlin was everyone's favorite map. I remember how Android was always a big drama queen and he eventually caused a split that saw the two resultant servers severely weakened (never to recover, truly). Just remembered Neophyte, he was a crazy bastard that one. And Elite Noob. Weren't they both Swedish or something? Maybe, maybe not. El Almein. That was a fun map. So many fun knife fights and failed dog fights. And what was the other desert one... Operation Battle Axe? It had two opposing bases with a valley in between. Everybody just got in to planes and f'ed around. And all the random aircraft carriers floating around. And Wake Island. The one map you could play as a Canadian on. Stalingrad. Or was it Leningrad... Who knows. I have so many memories, almost all of them good. It's funny, I still have Xfire set to automatically open when my computer starts up. Haven't logged in for years. Years. It's been a long time. I'm sure most of the clan has fallen out of touch. They had to start a life, didn't they? Some in college, some are probably working by now. Weird to think that any of the people I used to play with could grow up. We all seemed so young. I miss it to be honest. I wouldn't trade my life now for my life then, but I wish the old one could have carried over into the new, at least in this aspect. But it can't anymore, can it? No more BF1942 multiplayer. That won't stop me from booting it up and playing some single player tonight. Maybe I'll see if I still have Legion installed. It'll feel odd, having to shoot twice to kill, having to take off properly. Not being able to launch my jeep into the stratosphere.

We haven't had a Bf1942 server for about 18 months, sadly it didn't get used enough for it to be worth paying for. There is still an active Battlefield 1942 community, it's just that the in-game server browser doesn't work, you can read about it here: http://forum.bf1942.sk/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1813. Out of the people you named I think only myself and Kill Machine still play bf1942 and we do so without hacks  O:-)

I really do miss the days of WBS when we had an active server and active members, I think that was most fun I have had gaming. It wasn't just the gameplay, it was the people too.

I was hoping someone would remember the goats. I have a goat crossing sign in my room nowadays. Stole it from some farm in Iowa. Good times. I'll have to look into this multiplayer work-around. Maybe I'll be able to catch a game with you or kill one day!

Nixon! My friend! Long time a go man. It's very good to see you back here. I really miss the times we all had together with the WBS clan. We were a really good friends group who made a lot of fun. This is something which I will never forget. We had like really pro's in this games and also some noobs ( I won't say any names ::) ) but still, as a group we were very close. Ofcourse some bad things happened but yea.. It happens and we got over it.

Goats.. Man, I have to laugh again if I think about it.. :D

Me and Tuesday still play the game very often. I still really like the game and what we do now ( not hacking ) is actually pretty funny to play. Different play style and I think you get more skills by this. I still need to improve a lot but okay.. :)

I hope you can play again with me or Tues. That would be fun. :D Like the good old times.

Hope everyone is doing well! About to graduate college in the next few months and its hard to believe that I was playing with many of you close to 6 years ago now... I still return to my parents house and always reminisce when I sit in the same spot where I used my mothers laptop to play with everyone here...
I still remember my "entrance fights" with Tuesday, Austin, and Kill Machine who had joined just before I had... It's crazy to look back and see how much has happened since those easier times, but yet I still find the urge to come back and check up on you guys to make sure you're all still breathing ;)

I still remember Andy when he first started playing and when he got sooo upset that I kept kicking his ass.. Then he had to go and develop DroidWall whichmade him quite formidable..

I still havent left the BF franchise but now continue it by playing BF4 on my PS4. Every once in a while I see a name that looks somewhat familiar and can't help but wonder if it may be someone I used to know.
